Board Meeting Minutes
January 28, 2005

President JoAnne Moore called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m.
1. Approval of the Minutes
Darryl Tocker moved to approve the minutes of the October 29, 2004 meeting; Susan Smith Dorsey seconded. Motion passed.
2. Treasurer's Report
Erica McKewen reviewed the financial report. Compass Bank dropped the larger bank fees and additional follow up action on smaller fees, such as a charge for the return of canceled checks, will be taken. The account balance at the time of the meeting was $11,515.67.
3. Partnership Agreement with Texas Stories
Kathleen Jenkins of Texas Stories gave the board an update on the radio stories project she proposed to the board last October. Dianna Dorman moved that FLAT partner with Texas Stories to move the radio stories project forward; Jenifer Flaxbart seconded.
4. Other Reports
JoAnne reported on the following:
- she is reviewing a membership renewal letter in preparation for an upcoming membership mailing;
- the Oswald Gallery reception on November 5, 2004 featuring photography from the book 'Please Pass the Biscuits, Pappy' was lovely; author Bill Crawford and photo archivist John Anderson were present; kudos were given to Erica and Liz DeMoss for coordinating and catering the event.
5. Legislative Day Reception Hosted by Friends
Dianna and Jo Anne have been working diligently to plan the Legislative Day reception on February 16, 2005 in conjunction with TLA Legislative Day. They presented a catering budget from Word of Mouth and discussed other costs, including actors and costumes suited to the historical theme, all of which were reviewed. Darryl moved approval of a $6,000 budget for the reception, Susan seconded. Liz shared the layout and art work selected for the reception invitations and programs, which are being printed.

7. Old Business
The Friends will meet next on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a Friends program ('Governor W. Lee O'Daniel and Photographs of an Era') and business meeting at the TLA Annual Conference in Austin on Wednesday, April 6 from 2:00 to 3:50 p.m. Elections will be held at that meeting.
8. Adjournment
JoAnne adjourned the meeting at 4:30 p.m.
